Modern Education Society was founded in 1978 in commitment to accord Educational facilities to all sections of society.  Poultry farmers, Grapegrowers, Poultry owners, Power loom owners, Gold & Silver refinery owners and many others in Khanapur district had a demand for an English Medium School for many years.  To run a school as a social need, without any grant from the government was not an easy job.  But some eminent people from Vita, with social insight and great enthusiasm for social work gathered together to establish the Modern Education Society.  As there was no finincial support from any Minister or Sugar mill to the institution, the founders  collected refundable deposits without interest of  500/- Rupees from the Society & the institution began with the lower K.G. class in 1978.

A small seed slowly flourished in a big tree with a full flaged English Medium School from Nursery to X Std. A Marathi Medium School from Nursery to X Std.  A B.Ed. College, a D.Ed. College & a Junior College of Science.  Since its inception in 1978 the institution has magestically scaled the ladder of success.  Since the first batch of our X Standard we have got a record that every year our student has stood first in the centre.  Both Marathi Medium school & English Medium School and B.Ed. have kept the record of more that 85% of passing, each year.
